With its elaborate construction and stunning beauty,
A watch is sometimes regarded as a microcosm.
If we look closely at its details,
A breathtaking landscape spreads out before us.
Now, let’s go on a journey into the universe of Grand Seiko,
And explore what we haven’t yet seen.
SLGH035
The Iwai River flows through Iwate, the prefecture where expert craftspeople create Grand Seiko’s mechanical watches. Along its middle reaches lies Japan’s lush Genbi Valley, designated as a Place of Scenic Beauty and Natural Monument. In 2024, Grand Seiko released the SLGH021 as a limited edition expressing this mystical landscape. Now, with the SLGH035, the “Genbi Valley” has been made into a model in the permanent lineup. The dial’s pattern remains the same, but the color has changed to light blue. Among its many refinements, the watch features a tapered bracelet with a three-step micro-adjustment clasp that operates without a tool.
